Giving

Team Bucket Headz is pretty new; as of Jan. 1 2019 we have an accumulated 7 followers across social media platforms and one of them is my dog (thanks, Elsa). That doesn’t mean we’re holding back on the overarching mission of BucketHeadz which is giving back. You can find out more about that mission and the WeConomy movement in our About Us page.

As we mentioned, we’re new, so we’re going to be setting a reasonable goal for the first half of 2019. In the future we’d like to be ramping up these efforts x10, but this is where we’ll start…

BucketHeadz mission for January 1st ’19 through June 30 ’19 is to combat gun violence on Chicago’s west side. How will we do this?

  • 25 cents for every individual article read.
  • 10 cents for every individual youtube video view.

At the close of our 6 months the proceeds will be given to local non-profits to be named in March. We’ll provide receipts, proof, ice cream, whatever you want so you can see our impact.

In a perfect world, this means you may be more compelled to check out our content, knowing it could help someone in need.

Why Chicago, and why gun violence?

  • Chicago is home, and it’s no secret that it has it’s problems. We could get deeply political but the fact is that innocent people lose their lives to something that is preventable. Summer is when these problems rear their ugly head in the worst way, school gets out and the weather heats up. It’s also the end of the NBA season, so we figure it’s a good place to start.

Six months, a site in its infancy, let’s see what we can do. Any money raised could help keep 1 kid from being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and that’s worth it.

Signing off,
