Kawhi Leonard’s return to San Antonio is now down to less than 24 hours; we at BucketHeadz wanted to celebrate the occasion. With the anticipation palpable in the dry winter air we struggled to find a way to commemorate the biggest event in this small Texan enclave since the Alamo.
We’ve decided to countdown Kawhi Leonard’s favorite appendages, from worst to first. The notoriously outspoken Leonard has leaked these anecdotes throughout his time under Coach Poppovich, a sort of clue into his killer mindset. Without further adieu, here we go…
- Right Leg

Kawhi’s right leg is not his preferred launching pad towards the rim, and it shows. Leonard prefers jumping off of his left leg, forever proving his hatred to his least favorite appendage which he has claimed “would be better off as a stump because then I could be a Kawhirate”.
- Left Hand

Leonard has proven over the course of his career that he shoots with his right hand. This preference may have been the crack in the foundation of his relationship with Coach Pop, with a years long rift dividing the two beyond repair. “His left hand is bigger, he should be shooting the fucking ball with it. It’s common sense” muttered Poppovich through clenched teeth. With Leonard in a Raptors jersey happily shooting with his right hand, we’ll never know what could have been in San Antonio…
- Left Leg
Kawhi jumps off of this favorite leg of his to perform slam dunks quite frequently. “Yeah, I definitely like jumping off of my left leg, it makes me jump high”. Who can argue with that?

- Right Hand
Leonard would be nothing without his right hand. A favorite of his since the tender age of 12 Leonard shoots, writes, and waves with his right hand almost exclusively. How does one of the NBA’s top players keep this appendage ready to perform every night? “I’ve peeled all the skin off my palm so I don’t have to wash it”.

“It’s fucking sick you should see it!” yells Patty Mills in the background.
